Subtle Winds - The Heart of our Work

These values are at the heart of our vision. We commit to upholding them in every action and choice we make as we grow our company and community.

We believe healing is a community endeavor. Our grounded practices are informed by diverse humanistic, traditional, therapeutic and scientific healing approaches.

We honor the paths and practices of our indigenous and traditional teachers, whose wisdom is the foundation that led many of us into this work at Subtle Winds. Conscious of the gifts they have shared with us, we now steward them with integrity.

We use our unearned privileges to collaborate with and support others from historically marginalized and oppressed communities so that they too may benefit from equitable access to these traditional, healing medicines and practices in a safe and welcoming space.

With this work, we are in constant growth and reflection of our personal and collective journeys and understanding of power and privilege. We observe our steps forward, walking with respect and humility, listening more than we speak, building community and reciprocity.

We center the individual seeking healing and insight in their own journey by supporting and valuing each journeyers’ unique experiences, imagination, and inherent wisdom as co-creators in their healing work.

We validate the impacts of personal, generational, and historical trauma for those we serve and serve alongside and acknowledge the resilience and strength that guides each being in their journey.

We create a culture of healing that embraces our shared humanness, one that rejects the mainstream, hierarchical patient/staff dynamic. In our vulnerability and inter-beingness, we share and support the development of an elastic and humanistic therapeutic model that invites and incorporates traditional and non-traditional approaches to healing, growth and insight.

We build community internally and around those we serve, blending individual support with peer-to-peer connection and group spaces to foster integration of the healing work.

Warmly,

The Subtle Winds Team
