Payment Options

Subtle Winds offers two payment options to make paying your tuition and fees as convenient as possible:

*Payment in full by the start of the students training cohort.

*6 month Installment payment plan due by the last day of each month. For more information on these payment options, please contact the fiscal department at connecting@subtlewinds.com.

Subtle Winds asks that students choose to pay either the full amount before the start of their assigned cohort or in monthly installments of $1333.33 with the full amount due 6 months after the start of their training cohort. This fee covers the cost of your training, practicum and certification. Student’s will not receive their certificate of completion until full payment is received.

The Subtle Winds Psilocybin Facilitator Training Program requires that all tuition paid in full by agreed upon deadlines.

A late payment fee of $25 will be assessed for any tuition and fees not paid by the published and agreed up deadlines. Students will not receive final certification of course completion until all financial obligations are fulfilled.

Financial Aid & Scholarships

Historically Marginalized Communities and Low Income Student Discounts:
Subtle Winds is dedicated to increasing access for students who come from historically marginalized communities and/or who are low income. To this end, Subtle Winds has a discount/sliding scale program that may forgive 25% or 50% of the student’s tuition cost, depending upon each student’s income level, and the current ability of Subtle Winds to discount tuition per cohort.

How to Apply:
Students will submit a request for this discount through an application form. Discounts will be offered to those students who demonstrate this need, emphasizing those who come from historically Marginalized Communities including women, BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and other such communities including low income community members. We are limited in the amount of discounts we can offer and will assist as many students as possible in each cohort.

Criteria for Consideration:
In order to be eligible for a tuition discount, you must meet one or more of the following criteria.

*You are a student or trainee at our school.
*You are a member of a low-income and/or historically marginalized group.
*You are experiencing current financial hardship.

Next Steps & Scholarship Deadlines:
If you meet the criteria for a tuition discount, please fill out the waiver form found here, and provide supporting documentation explaining your request when you submit your application.

1. Tuition Discount requests must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the start of the training program.

2. Requests will be reviewed by the Enrollment Team and a decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.

3. Applicants will be notified of the decision via email. We ask that potential students who are considering applying for a discount first review the The Green Bottle Financial Privilege scale, to assist in determining their financial capabilities and level of financial privilege as we will only be able to offer a discount to a limited number of students in each cohort. This discount program allows Subtle Winds to offer financial assistance to those who need it most. Please apply if you find yourself in the low income bracket within the right hand side of the graph. Discounts will be considered on an individual basis to account for fairness.

Frequently Asked Questions

We assume there will be application and annual license fees, but those exact costs are still under review as the final rules will be put in place Dec 29th , 2022. Please see the link below for the most recent updates from the Oregon Health Authority. We recommend that all students review the ORS’s once they are finalized at the end of the month. https://www.oregon.gov/oha/PH/PREVENTIONWELLNESS/Pages/Psilocybin-License-Facilitator.aspx.

Yes. There will be a test that we assume will cover information from both the final rules and information that will be provided through the training program. Our training program was designed around the requirements of OHA and approved by them in June, 2022. We are tracking the final rule making and plan to update our curriculum and courses to support our students in preparing for this test during the course.

Insurance companies are waiting for final rules to come out from Oregon Health Authority this month before making any commitments. Subtle Winds has been actively exploring this issue and have heard recently that a few insurance companies are motioning that they will provide liability insurance to service centers and facilitators, but we do not have any estimates of cost at this time.

To provide psilocybin services, facilitators will have to do work at a licensed service center. Subtle Winds and a few other groups are working to establish local service centers and individual facilitators can also establish locations through the OHA process. Currently final rules are still be created by OHA for service centers but currently it seems that service centers cannot be in residential areas so home offices will likely not be an option. Additionally, each county and city will have Time, Place, and Manner statues that will determine where and how service centers can operate.
